Guitarist Adrian Belew has issued a very short statement on Facebook to say his tenure with Nine Inch Nails is over.
"Concerning me being part of the 2013 Nine Inch Nails band: it didn't work," was all he said.
The 63-year old former King Crimson guitarist was named as the new Nine Inch Nails guitarist in February. Four months later he was out.
Belew has worked with Frank Zappa, David Bowie and Talking Heads. He played on Zappa's 'Sheik Yerbouti', Bowie's 'Lodger' and Talking Heads 'Remain In Light'.
Belew also plays the lead guitar on Tom Tom Club's 'Genius Of Love'. A sample was used by Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five for 'It's Nasty' in 1982 and Mariah Carey for 'Fantasy' in 1995.
