(Cover) - EN Movies - Amanda Seyfried "trained for four months" to win a part in Les Misérables.
The actress will play Cosette in the upcoming big screen adaptation of the musical.
Amanda is known for her singing voice, having performed in 2008 movie Mamma Mia! This time round things are very different though.
"I trained for four months before I got [the role.] It's classical music, it's completely a different animal [than pop music]. It's really hard. You can't just take any pop star and turn them into a classical singer," she explained.
"Luckily, I had that foundation as a teenager. I studied opera. I'm not the greatest singer, but I'm trying!"
Winning the role was especially poignant for Amanda as she has loved the musical, based on the novel by Victor Hugo, since she was a little girl.
She always had a secret dream that she would be involved with Les Misérables, but never expected it to come to fruition.
"It's like a dream. I can't even believe I'm playing Cosette!" she told Access Hollywood.
"This is my all-time favourite musical, hand down. I fell in love with it when I was 11 and first saw it. I know every lyric, I know every song. I was Eponine from 11 to 15 in my head. When I was 15, I got into classical music and I was playing Cosette in recitals.
"When we all sing One More Day, I honestly don't know how I'm not going to cry! It's so intense. It was like half my life that I dreamed about this and I never had any expectations of it coming true."
Hugh Jackman will play Jean Valjean in the movie, a man who tries to reinvent his life after he is released from jail. However, he is unable to leave the past behind him as he is hounded by bitter policeman Inspector Javert.
Russell Crowe, Geoffrey Rush, Sacha Baron Cohen, Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Hathaway and Taylor Swift are also appearing in the picture, directed by Tom Hooper.
