First there was a Golden Globe. Then there was a Screen Actors Guild Award and a BAFTA. And at Sunday night's the Oscars, Anne Hathaway is in the running for yet another piece of hardware for her portrayal of Fantine in "Les Miserables."
And if she does end up being crowned Best Supporting Actress, it would mark a "wonderful, surreal twist" for the superstar, considering her mother once played the role of Fantine onstage. "It's just out of this wonderful, surreal twist. I'm not one that usually feels that things are destined, but I do feel that a little bit," she explained to MTV News on the red carpet of the Academy Awards on Sunday night.
February 24 marks the end of a very busy awards season for the pixie-haired starlet. But of all her wins, her BAFTA win remains her favorite so far. "It's hard to choose a favorite because it's been very full. I was truly, from the bottom of my soul, surprised to win the BAFTA. That was very special," she said. "To get that one meant an awful lot."
MTV Style breaks down Anne Hathaway's dress (and wardrobe malfunction) at the Oscars
Hathaway will face off against some primo talent in the B, including Amy Adams ("The Master"), Sally Field ("Lincoln"), Helen Hunt ("The Sessions") and Jacki Weaver ("Silver Linings Playbook"). And whether or not she wins, people will certainly be talking about that dress of hers, thanks to its rather revealing nature, which spawned the Twitter handle @HathawayNipple. "I really like this dress. I'm sorry, I should probably tone it down ... it's Prada," she said. "Jewels are Tiffany."
