ARCTIC MONKEYS have revealed that their new single is "strange".
The Sheffield rockers are due to release new track Crying Lightning next month but admitted that it's not like their usual chart hits.
Frontman Alex Turner said: "This was deemed the best signifier of the record. It was a favourite during recording.
"It's strange as far as a pop song goes."
He added that making their upcoming album Humbug was the most fun they'd had recording an album.
Speaking to BBC Radio 1's Zane Lowe, Turner said: "We've enjoyed making it more than the other two put together. It does really feel like we're getting somewhere."
Arctic Monkeys will headline this year's Reading and Leeds festivals and say they are more than prepared for it.
Turner added: "I think I'm a bit more ready for that sort of thing than we had been in the past. Glastonbury taught us that, I think we grew up in some way."
