The nominations were announced today (April 29) for the MOJO Honours List 2008 and Alex Turner has secured four nominations for both Arctic Monkeys and The Last Shadow Puppets reports XFM.co.uk.
In an amazing achievement, Turner sees himself and his Arctic Monkeys bandmates nominated for Best Album and Best Live Act while his side project with The Rascals' Miles Kane, The Last Shadow Puppets, is up for Best Breakthrough Act and Song Of The Year for 'The Age Of Understatement'.
Arctic Monkeys find themselves up against stiff competition for Best Live Act, facing challenges from Neil Young, bluesman Seasick Steve, Rufus Wainwright and the reformed - for one gig at least - Led Zeppelin.
Led Zeppelin's frontman Robert Plant is in the running for Best Album with his collection of duets with Alison Krauss, 'Rising Sands'. It's a nomination shared by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds for 'Dig!!! Lazarus, Dig!!!' (who are also up for Song Of The Year with the album's title track as are LCD Soundsystem for 'All My Friends'), Duffy's 'Rockferry' and Radiohead's 'In Rainbows'.
The MOJO Honours List will take place on June 16 at The Brewery, London.
