Rowland S Howard has died aged 50 while waiting for a liver transport. The legendary guitarist from Melbourne made his name with post punk legends The Birthday Party, which was fronted by Nick Cave reports XFM.com.
The guitarist had been struggling with ill-health for years and recently told Rolling Stone magazine that he'd been given a couple of years to live by his doctor.
Howard released his second solo album, 'Pop Crimes', in October to much critical acclaim.
