Producers decided to shoot a new scene to kick off the reality series’ season opener before Taylor Armstrong’s estranged husband died.
In the bittersweet reunion, that didn’t feature the widow herself, the rest of the cast try to work out the reasons behind the death – and hint at the alleged source of their split, his violent behaviour.
Kyle Richards said: “That’s all he ever wanted to be – successful and when it all went down the tubes… It was too much pressure.”
She added: “I think a lot of us have some guilt about not seeing this coming.
“(But) there’s plenty of men whose wives left them and they don’t kill themselves. You can’t feel responsible… It was his choice.”
