Bobby Brown and Pat Houston are now co-guardians of Bobbi Kristina Brown.
Bobby's 22-year-old daughter Bobbi Kristina, who he shares with late ex-wife Whitney Houston, has been in medical care since January 31 after she was found unresponsive in a bathtub at her home in Roswell, Georgia.
Bobbi Kristina was placed in a medically induced coma soon after she reached hospital and the young woman is currently receiving treatment at a rehabilitation centre.
Bobby and Pat, who is Bobbi Kristina's aunt through marriage, will now oversee all of her health affairs, as it is assumed she is in no state to make decisions on her own.
"We are delighted to inform the public that the court has appointed Bobby Brown and Pat Houston as co-guardians of Bobbi Kristina Brown ('Krissi'). Both Mr. Brown and Ms. Houston are jointly responsible for decisions related to Krissi's care and medical needs," a statement released to Us Weekly reads, which was issued by David Long-Daniels, Counsel for Pat Houston and Cissy Houston, and Christopher Brown, Counsel for Bobby Brown.
This announcement takes place after Bobby and Pat spent all day in court on Friday. Speculation is rife the Houston family and the Brown clan have been feuding over the care of Bobbi Kristina for months.
However the press release claims the bad blood was resolved in the hearing.
"Both parties are delighted with the court's decision and are working harmoniously to ensure Krissi receives the best possible medical care. We are appreciative of the manner in which Judge Jeryl Debra Rosh handled this matter," the statement read.
Bobbi Kristina's current medical status remains unclear, but her grandmother Cissy Houston provided an update in a press release issued to People magazine on April 20.
"I have just returned from visiting my granddaughter Bobbi Kristina in the hospital, and while she is no longer in a medically induced coma, she has a tracheotomy, and according to the doctors she has global and irreversible brain damage and remains unresponsive," Cissy said in the statement.
