Bobby Brown sentenced to jail for DUI

Bobby Brown has been ordered by a judge to spend 55 days in jail for driving under the influence.

The 44-year-old singer was arrested for a DUI in Studio City, California in October. This was the second time he was apprehended in 2012 for the same of offence, as he was busted previously in March.

Although Bobby initially pled not guilty to the charges, TMZ reports he changed his plea in court Tuesday to no contest.
In addition to the time he will spend behind bars, Bobby must complete an 18-month sobriety programme.

Bobby will turn himself over to jail officials no later than March 20. In the weeks before he is imprisoned the singer will have to attend three Alcoholics Anonymous meetings every seven days.

Following his release from jail, Bobby will be on probation for four years.

He has been convicted of DUI twice before, in March 2012 and in 1996.

Bobby was on probation for his March arrest, but the magistrate revoked this in light of his October arrest.
The star most recently exited rehab in August 2012.
