Bombay Bicycle Club, Metronomy, Crazy Arm, Kill it Kid, Maybeshewill and The Xcerts are among the latest acts to be unveiled for the 2000trees Festival.
They join headliners The Subways and Frank Turner, Sheffield's finest 65 Days of Static and many more at the award-winning Cotswolds festival, which returns to Upcote Farm near Cheltenham on July 16 – 17.
London-based indie rockers Bombay Bicycle Club were named Best New Band at the Shockwaves NME Awards and have built up a loyal following and widespread acclaim since first finding fame by winning Channel 4's "Road to V" competition.
Metronomy have honed a sublime electronic pop sound to rise to success over the past year with second album 'Nights Out', as well as remixing the big names of the UK music scene including Roots Manuva, Franz Ferdinand, Klaxons, Goldfrapp, Zero 7, Ladytron and Kate Nash. Previous outings include Glastonbury and Spain's giant Benicassim Festival.
Country rock punkers Crazy Arm, who got the festival started last year, have been invited back by popular demand, after fans swamped organisers with support. Bath's banjo wielding Americano blues rock act, Kill It Kid; instrumental electronic outfit Maybshewill and Scottish three-piece The Xcerts have all been added to the bill, along with the dance/electro/dub/rock mash up of Old School Tie, now known as OST.
With two full days featuring over 50 acts on three stages, comedy, DJs, headphone disco and campfire sing-a-longs to keep the party spirit going till dawn, 2010 is shaping up to be the best year yet for 2000trees – with an extra day of music and fun for just 500 people on July 15.
Tickets are on sale now. More information is available from www.twothousandtreesfestival.co.uk
