Speaking on Steve Harris' xfm radio show Jack and Ed from Bombay Bicycle Club told of their happiness at the harsh words by Liam Gallagher recently.
Liam told live4ever.co.uk, "Bombay Bicycle – they can fuck off with that name for a start".
The Bombay pair, however, seemed un-phased by the remarks.
"We were thinking about changing the name of our band before he said those things. It was a quick solution. We didn't think we'd ever have to worry about it or defend it – we were playing a gig and we just needed a name.
"It's a good thing to be insulted by Liam Gallagher. We've made it now. We're on his radar. He doesn't say anything nice about bands. It's good to get a mention".
