Brandon Flowers has assured fans The Killers will not be splitting, despite the frontman’s own plans to release a second solo album in the near future.
Earlier this week it was revealed Flowers would be releasing an as-yet untitled follow up to 2010’s Flamingo, which he is currently recording with the aim to release next year.
As is usually the case with band members going solo, fans have since expressed their worry about the future of The Killers, something which the frontman has been quick to address.
Speaking to NME, Flowers expressed his aims to take The Killers in a new direction in the future: "We've been lucky and we've checked off a lot of boxes, but you always want to grow and get better, write songs that you haven't written. And maybe that no-one else has written,"
"We're explorers, and so we're going to keep on digging.”
It is expected that Brandon Flowers’ second solo album will be out in early 2015, with more details yet to be confirmed.
The Killers have no forthcoming live dates in the UK, however the group have just finished a run of acclaimed festival headline slots including V Festival earlier this month.
