The Desired Effect is the successor to Flowers' chart topping 2010 debut solo album, Flamingo, and sees him team up with producer Ariel Rechtshaid (Haim, Vampire Weekend, Charlie XCX) for the first time in a collection of songs that shows him at his most sonically diverse and playful. The album was recorded at Battle Born Studios in Las Vegas, with further sessions at Heavy Duty and Vox Studios in Los Angeles.
Brandon Flowers' solo return follows a time of continued huge success with his band The Killers, whose fourth consecutive #1 album, Battle Born, was released in 2012, with the greatest hits collection Direct Hits following in 2013. The band has gone on to play a landmark, sold out Wembley Stadium show, and continues to headline major festivals around the world.
