BRIAN MOLKO had to be carried offstage after passing out during a gig in Japan.
The Placebo frontman fainted during the band's set at the Summer Sonic festival in Osaka Japan last weekend.
Molko was carried off by stage staff and it emerged later that the singer had contracted a virus which contributed to him briefly losing consciousness.
In a statement posted on their official website, Placeboworld.com, the band said: "Brian picked up a virus, which coupled with jet lag and exhaustion caused his collapse onstage.
"Thanks to prompt and professional care Brian is recovering well."
They apologised to fans and added: "We would like to extend our grateful thanks and sincere apologies to the fans who made a huge effort travelling to see us in Osaka, especially after long queues in the heavy rain."
Placebo play the Reading And Leeds Festival on the weekend of August 28-30.
