It looks like the upcoming one-hour TV tribute to the late Whitney Houston just added some more star power: Britney Spears announced she will partake in the CBS special, which airs November 16 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
On Tuesday evening (October 9), the pop superstar shared the news with her Twitter followers, writing, "I am both honored and humbled to take part in the GRAMMY salute to Whitney Houston on Thursday... She'll always be 1 of my heroes!"

It is unknown what Spears' participation will entail during "We Will Always Love You: A Grammy Salute to Whitney Houston," however, fans can expect performances from Jennifer Hudson, Usher, Celine Dion, Yolanda Adams and CeCe Winans. The tribute will tape Thursday at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles and will feature some of Whitney's most memorable performances as well as never-before-seen footage of the star.
Houston's TV tribute seems only fitting as a new greatest-hits compilation called I Will Always Love You - the Best of Whitney Houston will drop just a few days before the broadcast on November 13. In addition to Whitney classics like "I Wanna Dance With Somebody," "I Have Nothing" and, of course, the title track, the compilation will also include the previously unreleased song "Never Give Up" and an alternate version of her comeback ballad "I Look to You," which features R. Kelly. Fans can also expect a photo book, "Whitney: Tribute to an Icon," to hit shelves November 27.
