Britney Spears has reportedly been "crying nonstop" throughout Sam Lufti's trial against her.
The pop star and her parents are being sued by Britney's ex-manager Sam for defamation and breach of contract.
Since the court case began two weeks ago, the songstress has been accused of abusing prescription drugs and amphetamines.
Sam and his counsel allege that her addiction led to her infamous breakdown in 2007 in which she shaved her hair off.
Britney remains under conservatorship and her milieu is worried about her mental health at this time.
"She has been freaking out and crying nonstop, locking herself in her room," a source told Star magazine.
"Britney feels like she's being dragged through it all again. Her family's worried that this trial could be so traumatising it triggers a relapse. Everyone is scared she might turn back to drugs to numb everything."
Apparently the X Factor judges' loved ones are intent on keeping her from harm.
She is under strict surveillance currently.
"Britney's inner circle is keeping an around-the-clock watch on her," the source said. "She is their number one priority, and they will do whatever they can to keep her from reliving her drug-fueled nightmare of a past."
