In just three days, the four-minute video – which features steamy pool scenes and wire bondage – has racked up a massive 100,000 hits on YouTube.
It comes after sensational claims that a dance double had to step in because the 29-year-old pop princess had failed to nail the demanding dance routines for her soon-to-be-released video.
But stunning Spears lookalike Donna Hood seemed to have no problem impersonating the star in the action-packed spoof video created by amateur film-maker and blogger Ryan James Yezak.
The 24-year-old, who lives in Hollywood, said: 'It's my dream to direct a real Britney Spears music video. I think she'd absolutely love ours, or at least I hope that she would! I really wanted it to do justice to her amazing song and also to her as an artist.'
Meanwhile, Spears' reps have strongly denied allegations made in several US reports including one by celebrity gossip website TMZ.
Multiple sources on the music video set apparently told the entertainment website that director Jonas Akerlund was upset that Spears hadn't practised enough and asked her stand-in – Allison Kyler – to take over.
But reps for Spears insisted: 'The accusations could not be further from the truth. Britney worked extremely hard on this video and rehearsed for six weeks prior to shooting. Fans will immediately see how inaccurate these claims are, once they see the video.'
