Britney Spears has not been inspired by Lady Gaga on her comeback single 'Hold It Against Me', her choreographer has said.
Fans began speculating that Spears had used the singer as an influence after she filmed the video for the single with director Jonas Akerlund and his stylist wife B. Åkerlund, who shot the video for the Lady Gaga's hit 'Telephone'.
But Brian Friedman, Spears' long-term choreographer, said the singer was “trying new things”, and not mimicking the star.
"B. Åkerlund did the styling for it, and I can say that it is not 'Britney does Gaga'. That is not what's happening with this,” he told MTV News.
“Gaga has her own niche, and although B. has worked with Gaga before, she's not giving Britney anything that Gaga would wear.”
Friedman added: “I love seeing Britney try out new things. It's just an extension of what Britney already is."
As previously reported on Gigwise, Spears is expected to unveil the name of her new album, due out in March, later this week.
