Britney Spears reportedly "needs to be kept busy" to remain in good mental health.
The 31-year-old singer suffered a very public mental collapse in 2008 and is currently under court-ordered conservatorship overseen by her father Jamie, her fiancé Jason Trawick and others.
Britney has been a judge on Simon Cowell's US X Factor, but reportedly won't be invited back to her post next season.
Apparently the star's representatives are looking to transform her television career.
"Britney's manager, Larry Rudolph, is reading television scripts that the singer could accept," a source told Radar Online.
"Britney's dad, Jamie feels that having his daughter on a sitcom would be a good fit for her. Britney needs to be kept busy, and a structured environment such as a television sitcom would be a natural fit for her.
"There is also a possibility that Britney could get her own television sitcom, but that appears to be more of a long shot. She actually has very natural comedic talents and is very funny, in an airhead sort of way."
Insiders claim that producers and X Factor head boss Simon don't feel as though Britney has earned her $15 million contract due to her lacklustre performance.
