Britney Spears and will.i.am's remix video for "Scream & Shout" is perhaps less hyper than its predecessor but no less action-packed. And that has a lot to do with cameos from Diddy, Hit-Boy, Waka Flocka and Lil Wayne.
The video features all six A-listers swagged out, donning lots of black and gold, getting cloned and GIF-ed (much like in the Ben Mor-directed original video version) and rapping about hot girls and cool parties over the newer, slowed-down version of the tune. Britney, as the only femme fatale in the clique of stars, seems completely at ease, tossing her ponytail around, swinging her hips and chicly posing for the camera from time to time.
In between cameos from the couture-laden crew, it also features scantily clad dancers, high-end tech toys, exploding cars and popping bottles. MTV News was on the set of the video and we got the low-down on its concept.
"It's turnt up, amplified, maximized, screaming, shouting — I never thought that a remix would be this freaking crazy," will told about this version of the song. "Remixes have always been important, but this one...it's so freaking fresh that we had to do a video for it. Usually a remix just comes and it's a part of the initial, but this one needed a freaking video 'cause it's out of here, mega, amplified, turnt up."
And, will's enthusiasm isn't just for the video, but also for the track itself, off his solo album #willpower. "It just means so much that all these cats got down on this remix. And then to get Diddy, just get Diddy to do classic Diddy. Like intro the record and then just talk all through the whole record, adlib, like boom Diddy just bring it to that big, mega iconic level. Ain't nobody thinking that we gonna come like that," he gushed.
"And the beat is dope, Hit-Boy really came with a sick beat," he added. "It's like we're bringing trap music to Istanbul. We brought a trap to Prague, we're bringing trap to Birmingham and Manchester. It's probably the dopest trap beat I've hear since trap. I like trap music but this one is really, really, really freaking freaking dope. It's as they say, it's turnt up."
The video won't officially premiere until Friday on BET's "106 & Park," but it leaked one day early giving Britney fans a Valentine's Day gift of sorts.
It also happened to be the day her ex beau, Justin Timberlake, dropped his throwback-leaning "Suit & Tie" video. Weezy also released another video on Thursday. He gifted fans with his sexy, splashy clip for "Love Me."
