Carrie Underwood had her "share of loves gone wrong" before falling for ice hockey player Mike Fisher.
The couple tied the knot in July 2010 and are enjoying a happy union despite having to spend a lot of time apart because of their busy schedules.
But Carrie tells Us Weekly that she has the most amazing partner she could ever hope for.
"Believe me," she told the publication, "I've had my share of loves gone wrong. But I couldn't ask for a better husband and best friend.
"I'm finally happy in love, so there's a reason some things don't work out. At the time it seems like the world is ending, but then something great comes out of it and you realise everyone ended up exactly where they belong."
The American Idol winner dated Dallas Cowboy Tony Romo, actor Chace Crawford and The Doctors' Travis Stork before marrying the Canadian sportsman.
"We're the most normal couple in the world," she says of her relationship. "What I enjoy most is a quiet day at home with Mike and our doggies. We watch a lot of TV. And I do laundry, buy groceries and clean the house."
