The country singer – who got engaged to ice hockey player Mike Fisher in December 2009 – admits she and her fiance are too tied up with work commitments to focus all of their attention on organising their nuptials and arrangements are going slowly.
She told CMT Radio Live DJ Cody Alan: "There's a lot going on. They are still in the season. They actually only have a few more season games left. I'm touring until the end of June, and have a few shows in July, so we're working on it here and there. We have a few things coming along."
However, the blonde beauty has some ideas for her big day and revealed she is trying to keep to a traditional theme, but with a few modern twists, including no wedding cake.
She said: "We're kind of doing cupcakes I consider myself a very traditional person. More than anything, we're going to get married, that's the important part. And we want everyone to have a good time, so we're doing some things like that, that are a little bit different."
Despite sporting a stunning diamond engagement ring, Carrie – who has been dating Mike for two years – insists she would have been happy without the jewellery.
She said recently: "He could have put a twisty-tie on my finger and that would have worked."
