Carrie Underwood makes "that extra effort" to keep her marriage exciting.
The singer - who won the fourth season of American Idol – married ice hockey star Mike Fisher in July 2010.
The couple try to spend as much time together as possible, despite their excessively full professional schedules.
"Because we are so busy, we make our time together count," she told Us Weekly magazine. "We go on dates and make sure to make that extra effort."
The pair go to great lengths to make every moment in their marriage as romantic as they can.
"We will text and tweet 'I love you' every day," Carrie shared.
The star feels privileged to have found such an incredible life partner.
Carrie admits that at times she feels like she has to pinch herself.
"Married life is wonderful. I couldn't ask for a better husband and best friend," she gushed.
"I never thought guys like Mike actually existed! He loves me and all of my craziness!"
Carrie and Mike met at one of her concerts in 2008 and they got engaged in December 2009.
Prior to meeting Mike, she dated American Football star Tony Romo and Gossip Girl heartthrob Chace Crawford.
