Carrie Underwood says the best thing about being cheated on is "you get to go and be awesome".
The country singer is happily married to ice hockey star Mike Fisher. Before settling down with Mike, Carrie admits a previous boyfriend was unfaithful.
When asked how she bounced back from the heartache during a radio interview, Carrie explained that she kept her head held high.
"I've been cheated on, it's not that bad," Carrie told Australia's Kyle and Jackie O Show
"You get to go and be awesome. You get to be like, 'You know what I'm better and you become stronger.'"
The 29-year-old singer believes that recovering from the infidelity made her a tougher person.
Carrie went on to reveal how she discovered her boyfriend had been cheating on her.
"His friends told me, they're terrible friends," she laughed.
Carrie - who won the fourth season of American Idol – married Mike in July 2010.
The pair met at one of her concerts in 2008 and they got engaged in December 2009.
Prior to meeting Mike, she dated American Football star Tony Romo and Gossip Girl heartthrob Chace Crawford.
