The former Cat Stevens isn't being allowed into the U-S. His flight to the Washington area yesterday was diverted to Bangor, Maine, where sources say he was questioned by the F-B-I and Immigration officials. He was sent back to London yesterday.
Officials say Stevens, who's now known as Yusuf Islam, is on a federal watch list. He was denied admission to the US for what's termed national security reasons. Islam founded a Muslim school in London in the 1980's. But he has criticized terrorist acts by Muslims, including the Nine-Eleven attacks and the deadly school seizure early this month in Beslan, Russia.
