Welsh singer Charlotte Church has given birth to a girl.
The 21-year-old Channel 4 chat show host opted for a home birth at the plush farmhouse she shares with her boyfriend and Welsh rugby international, Gavin Henson, in St Brides Major, in the Vale of Glamorgan, south Wales.
A spokeswoman for Church said: "A baby girl was born sometime on Thursday evening or possibly Friday morning. Midwives were present at the home birth." The spokeswoman had no details of the baby's weight or name.
A message posted by the webmaster of the singer's internet site, www.charlottechurch.com, said: "Gavin has informed us that Charlotte gave birth to a beautiful baby girl at home on Thursday night.
"Gavin was there at the birth. He has told us that mother and baby are doing just fine. We have no further details yet, but we expect to be able to bring an exclusive announcement from the couple some time on Monday.
"I'm sure everyone will agree that this is fantastic news and will want to join us at CC.com in wishing them our very best."
Henson was omitted from the Ospreys regional rugby squad for their Magners League match against Ulster on Friday night despite predictions from his coach he would be on the bench before the game.
In a recent interview with Cosmopolitan magazine, Church said her attempts to buy a pregnancy test in secret didn't go to plan. She told the magazine: "I missed a period so I had to find out if I was pregnant.
"I didn't want to go to a chemist in case anyone saw me, so I thought I'd put on a hoodie, go to Tesco, buy a test and put it through the self-checkout.
"It all went horribly wrong. I was hanging around for ages, waiting for the medical section to clear. The pregnancy kit had a security tag on it, which I had to take to the counter to be removed. I couldn't have drawn more attention to myself if I'd tried!"document.write(unescape("
