The singer split from her fiancé, rugby star Gavin Henson, earlier this year. She is currently dating her backing guitarist Jonathan Powell, but insists she doesn’t want things to move too quickly.
Charlotte is happy with her life at the moment, and is focusing on her two children - Ruby, three, and 21-month-old Dexter - and her music career.
“I’m just not ready for a big thing yet. I like a bit of freedom,” she said in an interview with British magazine new! “It’s quite nice to be free, but not forever. I do like men quite a lot!”
The 24-year-old is currently promoting her new album Back to Scratch. Even though it failed to set the charts alight in the UK, Charlotte insists she is happy with her latest material. The singer has adopted a philosophical approach to her career and says being a good mother is the most important thing to her.
“Nothing matters compared to spending time with my children,” she added. “They’re my life.”
Charlotte went on to discuss her split from 28-year-old Gavin. The pair confirmed they had ended their relationship just weeks after announcing their engagement. Charlotte has admitted they simply grew apart and they couldn’t seem to agree on anything.
“The problem with me and Gav was that we were just too different, too far apart. His world is alien to me. All that training… he’s so strict with what he eats, what time he goes to sleep. And my life was alien to him,” she explained. “We love each other still. He is a good guy. It’s just that we were not good for each other, unfortunately.”
