Cheryl Cole wrote her autobiography because she had "enough" with hearsay about her life.
The 29-year-old British singer published her tome Cheryl: My Story last year.
Cheryl admits recording details of her private life in a book was not an easy process.
"It was a tough decision. It was a battle with myself, with how I normally [do things] because I am a very private person," she revealed during an interview for MSN.
"Enough was enough and it was time for me to put out my side of the story, and the truth. And if I was going to do it I was going to do it honestly and frankly and truthfully, and not beat around the bush. So once I made the decision I knew it was going to be frank and open.
"It was the best thing for me at that time. Just putting all the rumours to bed."
Cheryl has been highly ambitious since her youth.
She always envisioned herself being a successful entertainer.
"I couldn't see a future of doing anything other than performing. I didn't like school if I'm being honest. I would have settled for performing in any capacity," she explained.
