A fan of Chris Brown insists keeping the Rolex watch he lost during a performance didn't even 'cross her mind'.
Alisha Borton, a 24-year-old dental hygiene student, was a lucky member of the crowd during Chris' MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) performance last month. When Chris' $22,000 Rolex watch soared into the crowd as he was dancing, she found it. Alisha initially had no idea what the value of the timepiece was.
"I thought [the watch] was expensive, I didn't think it was that expensive. I had it on my wrist waiting for somebody to take it. That's crazy," Alisha said to MTV News. "That's like taking a car and trying to sell it. It didn't cross my mind that I could keep it."
Alisha was in the perfect spot onstage to retrieve Chris' watch. Although the piece is worth a lot, Alisha's main concern was preventing it from getting damaged.
"I was actually on the stage right behind where the trampoline was," Alisa recalled. "You can see me right behind the trampoline... on TV [and] you can see where he takes off his watch and throws it. I guess he did it on purpose. There's the watch flying in the air, I just picked it up and put it on my wrist. I was afraid it was gonna get broken."
Chris has rewarded Alisha with concert tickets to his September 21 concert in Ohio and a special backstage VIP meet-and-greet session. Alisha still hasn't fully comes to terms with the situation.
"It's just been so crazy. I haven't gotten to process it yet. My friends are probably tired of me talking about it," Alisha laughed.
