Chris Brown wanted the music promo for Fine China to be "cinematic".
The musician used his new single to show how his character has evolved.
The star has been working hard to change for the better and hopes this video will tell his story.
"I wanted the video for Fine China to be cinematic, to tell the story of the song," Chris told HollywoodLife.com. "Being chivalrous, catering to woman, bringing in the element of love. I'm a big movie guy. I love watching movies. It always keeps me creative."
The ending of the Fine China promo has been purposefully left open. As Chris releases more tracks from his upcoming album X, each video will pick up where the last one left off.
"We left the video open-ended as the plan is to try to eventually have a series of videos to accompany the album. To tell a seamless story," Chris explained.
The 23-year-old singer is recognising nearly a decade in the music industry after releasing his debut album in 2005. The Grammy Award winner says X is special as it was the first time an album has been therapeutic for him. It also reflects his positive frame of mind for the future.
"I've been humbled by my past experiences and I want my music to speak for itself and to speak for me. That's what X is," Chris revealed. "I'm focused on moving forward and all things positive."
Chris has made headlines for his on-off relationship with singer Rihanna recently. The couple split in 2009 after he assaulted her.
He has recently admitted he was "arrogant and hot-headed" at the time of the attack.
Chris was subsequently prosecuted and put on probation, which he says he's learnt from.
