Chris Brown may find himself behind bars after prosecutors issued a probation revocation motion.
The singer remains under probation after he assaulted then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009.
The Los Angeles District Attorney's office brought two misdemeanour offences against Chris after he was involved in a minor fender bender in May. The victim Olga Gure-Kovalenko claimed he didn't share his insurance information or his driver's licence on the scene, which is an offence in California.
The star was also charged with driving without a valid licence.
Although Olga has since decided not to move forward in court with the case, the DA's office wants Chris to face punishment.
TMZ reports prosecutors have filed papers with the judge presiding over the star's probation in connection with the Rihanna battery case. Apparently they desire for the magistrate to revoke Chris' probation and "immediately remand him into custody".
It is unknown what is likely to occur as a result of this request, but it is quite common for prosecutors to file motions similar to this. While under probation a criminal must obey all laws and if Chris' probation judge believes he has violated this order the star will be sent to prison for up to four years.
Chris is finding support from odd places on the matter, as hit and run victim Olga's attorney will attend court Monday to defend the musician. His client doesn't want to see Chris go to jail over the incident.
Chris meanwhile is distraught about how things are turning out.
"I did everything I was suppose to do during the so called hit n run, I provided the correct info (sic)," he wrote on Twitter. "There were no injuries or damages. C'mon!!"
