US network ABC ' who broadcast the show ' has decided not to make a complaint to police about the incident which happened yesterday (22.03.11), meaning no investigation will be launched.
The 21-year-old singer is currently on five years probation as a result of assaulting ex-girlfriend Rihanna in February 2009, and if ABC pressed charges it could have led to him being imprisoned for vandalism.
It is not known if Chris will be paying for the window, which he reportedly smashed with a chair after ripping his shirt off and scaring staff on the show after he flew into a rage when interviewer Robin Roberts quizzed him on the attack.
An insider told the New York Daily News newspaper: 'He looked like he wanted to kill somebody. He went completely nuts. He just walked off the set, ripped his shirt and went into the room and threw a chair and broke the window.'
Following his outburst, he headed to New York's West 4th Street basketball courts, where he was heckled by crowds as he took part in a game.
A source told the Huffington Post: 'Chris Brown was getting trash-talked by the crowd. At least he's wearing a shirt now. No sign of broken glass either.'
Chris himself has stayed quiet on the issue, only saying after the event he was 'tired' of anyone who wasn't a fan.
He wrote on twitter: 'All my fans!!! This album is for you and only you!!! I'm so tired of everyone else!! Honestly!! I love team breezy!! (sic)'
