Critically acclaimed singer-songwriter Chris T-T will take time out of his busy touring schedule in June to visit two South West schools.
On June 12th Chris will work with a group of Year 9 students at Kingsmead School in Somerset, and on the 13th with Year 10 students on the Rockschool course at Tiverton High School in Devon. The students will be keen to pick Chris' brains about the music industry, and he will no doubt impart some of his songwriting knowledge and experience during the day as the students strive to create their own original compositions.
"Songwriting is a key way to unlock kids' creativity," says Chris. "It's one of the few art forms they're actively, instinctively drawn to. Few children go to galleries or the theatre without being pushed there by adults. But they seek out new music every day."
Chris has done similar sessions at other schools in the UK and is putting together a number of Schools & Songwriting sessions along with a run of acoustic shows later this year. See www.christt.com for contact information if you have a school program that would be interested in this.
Chris T-T's new album, Capital, was released in February by Xtra Mile Recordings. Capital is the final part of his London trilogy. Capital is yet another brilliantly intricate and hilariously acerbic album, with musical styles ranging from electronic synth-pop to moody piano-led folk. His live shows are near legendary as his story-telling lyrics capture audiences and transport you to the fascinating and enchanting world of Chris T-T.
Chris is currently touring the UK promoting his highly acclaimed sixth album, Capital.
