Xtra Mile High Club Vol.1 is a collection of songs from three of the best song-writing talents in Britain and USA. Frank Turner, Chris T-T and Jonah Matranga - stripped back and re-worked for your pleasure!
The poetic Chris T-T offers radical re-workings from his recent album 'Capital' which came out in March. Exclusively for this release, Chris has stripped back 'Old Men' and the heartbreaking 'A Box To Hide In' with just an acoustic guitar showcasing his lyrical depth and significance. Together with the new piano-led version of 'A-Z' and the rather sinister 'Ankles', Chris's undeniable talent is beautifully laid bare. "British pop's street-poet laureate and unsung genius" Sunday Times
Sacramento hardcore legend Jonah Matranga's solo album 'And' released last year further highlighted Jonah's ability to write emotive, honest songs. For this one-off compilation he has uncovered singles 'So Long' and 'Not About A Girl Or A Place' to reveal the brilliantly crafted pop melody; and other album highlights 'Every Mistake' and 'Definitely, Definitely, Definitely', the messages of which become even more poignant, sentimental and defiant. "Every Mistake, a dedication to his daughter, is melodic, articulate and typical of this rare and undervalued talent." Q
Not unfamiliar to acoustic versions and gigs, Frank Turner brings a raw and passionate version of 'Imperfect Tense' and 'Photosynthesis' from his second album 'Love Ire & Song', as well as a dynamic and intense 'Worse Things Happen At Sea' from debut album 'Sleep Is For The Week'. The acoustic version of 'The Real Damage' recorded live from Nottingham Social back in April is Frank at his performing best.
