Taking place on Saturday 20th June 2009 at North London's newest rock venue; The Gaff, Lexapalooza Festival returns with a wealth of eclectic artists performing across two stages from 1pm until late.
Lexapalooza champions all genres of music and offers the very best in emerging underground talent as well as more established acts. With more artists to be announced over the coming months, this year's line-up is already shaping up nicely.
Confirmed so far are (in alphabetical order); London hardcore legends in the making Armed Response Unit; the angelic sounds of Ben Marwood; sludge masters Blind Havoc; superhero metal merchants General Bovine & The Justice Force 5; an acoustic set from one to watch Jim Lockey; the midlands greatest living riff writers Kill Chaos; the "one-man acoustic loudness" of Oxygen Thief; Ska reprobates The Popes Of Chillitown; the UK's only Misfits tribute band Psychofiend, Croydon's finest Superman Revenge Squad and Xtra Mile Recording newest signings The Xcerts!
We are also honoured to have a very special guest appearance from Chris T-T & The Hoodrats who will open the main stage before rushing off to headline another festival in the evening.
All proceeds from the day go the charity, Breast Cancer Campaign. Their mission is to beat breast cancer by funding innovative world-class research and to understand how breast cancer develops, leading to improved diagnosis, treatment, prevention and cure. Lexapalooza has so far raised over £5000 for Breast Cancer Campaign with its previous annual one-day events. On top of this, a further £800 was raised last year courtesy of our good friend Frank Turner and Xtra Mile Recordings. 10p from every sale of Frank's single Long Live The Queen (a song about our founder Alexa Burroughs who lost her battle with cancer in 2007) has been donated to Breast Cancer Campaign. The single gained enormous support from Radio 1, XFM and 6Music with Sara Cox making it her Radio 1 Record Of The Week and it has helped launch Frank further into the mainstream. Alexa would be very proud.
We aim to raise at least £1500 this year.
