Death Cab For Cutie played their last ever show with founding member Chris Walla on Saturday night (13 September). Watch footage from the gig below.
A quintessential member of the US indie heroes, Walla not only played guitar, but also produced each of Death Cab's seven albums. In August, he announced that after 20 years with the group and finishing off their new album, he'll be leaving the group as he 'longs for the unknown'.
"Thank you so much for the last 17 years, Chris," said the band's lead singer Ben Gibbard as the set neared its end. Walla, meanwhile, merely told the crowd, "Thanks", before taking part in a poignant group hug.
Walla's final album as a member of the band, the follow-up to 2011's Codes & Keys, is set to be released next year.
