Coldplay is roaming the world as you read this, giving audiences from South Africa to England a big dose of tunes from their upcoming MYLO XYLOTO album. There's an informal majesty in the band's music. Check their recent romp through our Live On Letterman session, where singer Chris Martin brought plenty of passion to 'Viva La Vida' and other classics.
NYC's Ed Sullivan Theater is a rather intimate setting, but on October 26, the band will perform in one of the much larger venues they're used to, Madrid's Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas, a famed bullfighting arena. What, you're not slated to be in Spain? No worries: you can still be part of the audience because the 'American Express Unstaged' series livestreams the show globally on YouTube, and mobile devices via VEVO and YouTube apps.
The icing on the cake is that the performance is being directed by famed photographer and filmmaker Anton Corbijn. Each of the 'Unstaged' shows matches a superstar artist and visionary director to give fans 'a visually stunning in-venue experience.' Martin's appreciation of his new director is deep.
'Anton Corbijn has been a big hero to us for a long, long time,' says the singer, 'so we're thrilled to be beaming this concert out to the world through his lens. We can't wait to share this experience with him and with all of our fans watching 'American Express Unstaged' around the world. It's going to be big.'
Put it in your calendar today. At 9 pm BST on Wednesday October 26, the place to be is right here.
