Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has denied reports that their new album will be a concept record.

In December, the singer was quoted as saying that the as-yet-untitled album would tell “the point of view of two people who are a bit lost”.

But he has now played down the comments -  and revealed that the album is about the good and bad of life.

He told BBC Radio 1 it was about "love, addiction, OCD, escape and working for someone you don't like".

The follow-up to 2008’s ‘Viva La Vida And Death And All His Friends’ has been produced by Brian Eno and Markus Dravs.

The album has yet to be given a release date.
