Overview
The group, fronted by Chris Martin, last headlined the festival in 2005. They will play the main Pyramid stage on Saturday June 25 at Worthy Farm, Pilton.
Organiser Michael Eavis said: 'Coldplay have played such a major part in the festival over the last 10 years or so.
'This is the triumphant return of a band that everyone here feels part of. They're one of the greatest phenomena to grow from these fields.'
US pop star Beyonce has also been announced as a headliner and is set to perform on the Pyramid Stage on Sunday June 26.
