COLDPLAY have been signed up to make a cameo appearance in the next series of The Simpsons.
Frontman Chris Martin will appear as himself in an episode where Homer Simpson wins a million dollars and hires the band to play a private gig for his family.
Executive producer Al Jean said in the episode, which airs in September, the band are forced to halt the gig when Bart Simpson goes to the bathroom.
Coldplay follow in the footsteps of other bands and musicians who have lent their voices to the popular animated TV show.
One of the first guests was Michael Jackson, who guested under the alias of John Jay Smith, as a mental patient named Leon Kompowsky who is convinced he is Michael Jackson.
Three Beatles - Ringo Starr, George Harrison and Paul McCartney - have also appeared on the show, as well as U2, Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Who, R.E.M, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Johnny Cash.
