Coldplay will embark on a world tour later this year.
The British rockers have yet to reveal the dates and the cities they will play in but have promised fans they are in for a treat.
A source said: "Coldplay don't mess around when it comes to pleasing the fans. It's been a while since they've been on the road, and the pressure of touring can be challenging. But they are up for it and are really excited."
Frontman Chris Martin has also reportedly asked his brother's group Milk Teeth to be their support act.
The source added: "Al's band have been trying to make it – this is the help they need."
Chris recently revealed the band have "everything to prove" with the release of their new album 'Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends'.
He said: "I feel like we've got everything to prove and everyone to prove it to this time around. "It's an interesting time to be in a band right now. Nobody sells records, everyone's very doom and gloom all the time, and in a way we feel quite freed by that."
