Cyndi Lauper will appear in The Last Beat.
The star has reportedly agreed to appear as Bebe Markham in the movie, which is being directed by Robert Saitzyk. Robert also wrote the script and is best known for helming 2009's Godspeed.
The Last Beat focuses on rocker Jay Douglas, who lives in Paris. He went to the French city in the hope of leading an artistic live as a poet and a writer, and has two girlfriends.
'The original soundtrack will have influences of the 70s ranging from Rock n Roll to French Pop. The film will start to be shooting in Paris later this year,' reports The Hollywood Reporter.
The musical aspect of the picture will suit Cyndi well as she's best known for her singing career, with her biggest hits including Girls Just Want to Have Fun and Time After Time.
Cameron Richardson, Shawn Andrews, Virginie Ledoyen and Seymour Cassel will also appear in the movie.
The Last Beat is slated for release next year.
