Damon Albarn's debut solo album, Everyday Robots, has been beaten to the No.1 spot in the UK albums chart by Paolo Nutini, whose new album Caustic Love has held onto the top spot for a third week.
Caustic Love, Nutini's third LP, has sold over 198,000 copies since its release on 14 April. It was preceded by the single 'Scream (Funk My Life Up)' in January, which reached No.12 in the UK singles chart.
Albarn's first solo album Everyday Robots premiered at No.2 in the UK albums chart. The former Blur frontman and vocalist of virtual band Gorillaz first announced his solo project in 2011, describing its sound as "empty club music."
He has since released five singles from the album, including the title track, 'Lonely Press Play' and 'Hollow Ponds.'
Elsewhere in the charts, Pixies' first album in 23 years, Indie Cindy, reached No.6, and Brody Dalle's Diploid Love entered at No.33.
In the singles chart, Calvin Harris reached No.1 for the sixth time with his latest single 'Summer'.
