Damon Albarn has discussed the ideas and influences behind his upcoming solo album, Everyday Robots - saying that some of the tracks were inspired by 'drugs and porn'.
Speaking to Q Magazine, the Blur frontman turned solo star said that songs such as 'Lonely Press Play' dealt with the X-rated material that is freely available to an entire generation on the internet.
''When I was a kid, it was so different. I can't imagine now what it's like for teenage boys with pornography on the internet," said Albarn. "It's fucking unbelievable. When I was a kid, the only place we could find porn was in a ditch with a burnt-out copy of Razzle mag.
''That's the way it was, so that's how my generation gained our first exposure to those sorts of things. It certainly wasn't on the television, really, and I just can't believe the way things have changed.
He added: "''It's an extraordinary and kind of terrifying thing, isn't it? But if we'd had the internet when we were growing up, we'd have been on it, believe me.''
Albarn also added that he discusses his headier days in Blur in new track 'You and Me', touhing his first experience of heroin. "It's what I found going on in the front room," he said. "The telly was on and I just thought, 'Why not?' I never imagined it would become a problem."
