Damon Albarn has praised Latitude for being 'brave' enough to book him as a headliner at last weekend's festival.
The Blur icon turned solo star headlined the Obelisk Arena on the Saturday night of the festival, where he played a career-spanning set from across his various projects, even inviting Blur guitarist Graham Coxon on stage to perform 'Tender'.
Speaking with the BBC ahead of his performance he said: "They offered me the slot that I've got based on me just playing my record and I thought that was very brave of them. Because it's quite slow and for a festival it's quite a risky thing to play."
The BBC suggested that Latiude would be the place for a performance of the album Everyday Robots - as opposed to any other festival - to which he agreed before adding:"I'm not just playing that record but that's why I chose it [the festival]."
Albarn, who was raised in Colchester, also said that the Suffolk festival would have been local to him and that he definitely would have gone to it as a kid.
When asked if Blur would reform again he said "I'm sure one day"
