Remember when Blur and Oasis went head to head in a chart battle with their singles 'Country House' and Roll With It'? Well so does Damon Albarn, and he thinks both songs were a load of rubbish.
The newly solo star showed no sense of Britpop nostalgia over the infamous rivalry between the two bands during a recent Reddit AMA, when the two singles were mentioned. A fan told Albarn during the online chat that he owed both bands cash as he had shoplifted copies of the singles during the heyday of CD stores.
To which Albarn replied simply: "I wouldn't worry about it... They were both shit."
In a recent interview with The Guardian, Albarn discussed the long-running rivalry between Blur and Oasis, saying that not only was it 'ridiculous', but that there was little chance he would beat Noel Gallagher's songwriting.
"The whole class thing was just insane, but we were young and we let ourselves get caught up in it," Albarn told the broadsheet.
"The competitiveness was ridiculous for a while but, you know, I was never gonna beat Noel in a war of words."
