Rock legend Bolton, 58, performed a duet with Goodrem, 26, and sung her praises on the US morning programme The Today Show.
'Fortunately I had an opportunity to meet with Delta and I thought she was phenomenal,' he said.
'I was blown away by her voice, she played me this incredible song that she wrote with her partner Vince and I said 'I have to cut this song, would you do it as a duet with me?''
Delta smiled modestly. 'It’s a lot of pressure when you say that,' she said as the hosts Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford declared her to be a 'beautiful singer from Australia.'
Bolton has performed with a diverse host of talent including Bob Dylan and Ray Charles. His 21st studio album Gems, The Duets Collection is out now.
