Fans, stand up and make your vote count! MTV's "Last Fans Standing" tournament is under way, and it's heating up fast. With some of the biggest pop stars' fan armies all competing to be the ultimate fan group on the planet, now's the time to root for your team.
Voting is going on right now on MTV's Facebook page, and Demi Lovato's Lovatics are currently in first place, having shared her photo more than any other fan group. It will all culminate Wednesday during MTV's "The Big & Best of 2012" live stream. Once the top 16 is narrowed down, additional rounds will take place live during the year-end celebration.
As of press time, the competition was getting stiff after voting kicked off last Wednesday. After some late-night sharing, the Lovatics have managed to overtake Lady Gaga and her Little Monsters, sitting in first place with 232,957 shares ahead of Monsters' 224,882 shares. But Team Britney are making their voices heard with 141,374 photo shares.
Ladies continue to rule the competition, with the Selenators showing their love for Selena Gomez 136,818 times, placing them at #4. But Beliebers aren't letting Justin Bieber down: They've shared his photo 98,013 times, ranking him at #5.
KatyCats, Little Monsters, Swifties and more go head-to-head in "Last Fans Standing." Find out how you can vote!
With so much excitement for Beyoncé's 2013 album brewing, it's no surprise that the BeyHive have fanned out upward of 85,883 times, placing sixth in the heated competition. The Directioners are currently at #7, having shared the photo of One Direction 57,451 times, and coming in at #8 are Katy Perry's KatyCats with 28,002 shares.
Rounding out the top 10 are Nicki Minaj's Barbz at #9 with 20,670 shares and the Rihanna Navy at #10 with 25,069.
So how does the rest of the competition shake out? At #11 are Taylor Swift's Swifties, followed by Adam Lambert's Glamberts, Bruno Mars' Hooligans, The Wanted's TWFanmily and Ke$ha's Animals. In last place is Chris Brown's Team Breezy, with 1,541 shares.
Taylor Swift will tease her new "I Knew You Were Trouble" video on Wednesday!
The cross-network event will kick off at noon ET and play out across Viacom digital properties, including MTV.com, VH1.com, CMT.com and ComedyCentral.com, spotlighting the music, personalities and pop-culture moments that defined 2012. The blowout party will include eight hours of live performances, celebrity guests and programming highlights from the past year.
Hosted by MTV News' Sway Calloway, VH1's Carrie Keagan and CMT's Kourtney Hansen, "The Big & Best of 2012" will be broadcast live from MTV's legendary Times Square studio and on location in music venues in New York City, Boston and Nashville.
