Starting with her Unbroken album kicking off 2012 in January, Demi Lovato has come full circle, ending the year with 12 straight months of personal highs. From her brand-new judging gig to a rockin' performance of a lifetime, the pop songstress revealed her top five moments of the year to MTV News on the "Big & Best of 2012."
5. Demi Joins the Table
Demi's known for being a chameleon, going from blonde to brunette to golden and alternating punk, boho and sleek looks within days. Along with singing and acting, Lovato morphed into another alias. Back in September, Demi took on her new "X Factor" role as judge, joining Britney Spears, Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid. And it made her #5 moment.
"Getting to work with Britney, Simon and L.A. on 'X Factor,' getting the call was just an incredible moment for my career and my life," said Lovato. The new judge mentored the Young Adult group, and even got help from Nick Jonas for an episode. Needless to say, rolling with music's elite and ushering in the next generation of artists deserved this spot.
4. We Choose Lovato!
Before starting her "X Factor" job, Demi had to try on yet another hat, tacking on hosting duties to her ever-growing to-do list. "I think another one was getting to host the Teen Choice Awards," said Demi. "It was a huge honor."
"Glee" star Kevin McHale joined the "Skyscraper" singer as co-host. And guess what? Demi also performed and got some awards of her own. By the end of the night, fans had crowned Lovato with Choice Female Music Star and Choice Twitter.

3. Getting Her Message Across
Back in August, Demi strutted onstage at the 2012 Video Music Awards Pre-Show in a flashy black dress and studded leather jacket. If you hadn't heard of her before (doubt it), this performance launched her deeper in MTV fame. Not only did she confidently belt out "Give Your Heart A Break" without a hiccup, the "Skyscraper" singer earned a Moonman for Best Video With a Message.
"Definitely being able to be in the VMAs and win a Moonman, which I never knew would happen," she said of her third top moment. "So amazing."
2. Demi Drops Her Ballot
In the midst of "X Factor," Lovato took a break to do her part as a citizen. "The election was really important to me," she said. "It's the first time I've been able to vote."
"I'm very, very thankful that things went pretty well," Demi continued, while shrinking back a little. Although she kept her vote a secret, I think it's safe to say she's happy with the presidential election's results.
1. Topping the Charts
With a year full of accomplishments, Demi was confident in her #1 choice. Topping the Billboard Pop Songs chart is something anyone could be proud of.
"My last one, I think when 'Give Your Heart a Break' went #1 on pop radio," she said with a smile. "I was very, very thrilled, and it was there for two weeks, which was crazy and I'm so blessed. So thanks!"
